NC State @ Virginia

Let me start this off clean. NC State is a road favorite in a conference opener and they deserve every bit of it. CJ Bailey, a loaded receiver room, and a defense that has been built to travel. This is not a close game.

TK, you are sleeping on Scott Stadium in September. Virginia gets a conference opponent at home in Week 1 and that crowd is going to be loud from the jump. Grady Brosterhous has weapons, and nobody is giving this team a chance.

Mia, everybody in the building is on the home dog angle right now. That is the tell. Virginia has not shown me they can move the ball consistently against a real ACC front seven, and NC State qualifies.

Pull up the tape on these two lines. NC State has been physical up front for a while now and Virginia is breaking in new pieces. I do not care how loud Scott Stadium gets, games are won up front, always have been.

Buck is right for the wrong reasons, as usual. The returning production advantage sits with NC State, and Virginia's offense has real questions at the skill level heading into this one. The Wolfpack are the better football team by the numbers.

You two are so locked in on NC State that you are completely ignoring what Jahmal Edrine and TyLyric Coleman can do in space against a secondary that has to prove itself in Week 1. Virginia has playmakers. I am buying all of it.

Mia, buying all of it on a team that is 5.5-point home underdogs in a conference opener is how you end up explaining yourself at halftime. I like the under here too, both offenses are going to need a series or two to find their footing.

I want Tank Boston to go over 80 yards receiving today. The matchup is there and Bailey is going to find him early to set the tone. Mark it.

TK going 35-17 is a little aggressive for a Week 1 conference game with two offenses that have things to prove. I have NC State winning comfortably, but 54.5 is a number I respect. Variance is not a personality.

I will say this about Brosterhous: he has got a chance to make a name for himself today with Sage Ennis at tight end as a safety valve. But NC State's defense is not going to let him breathe easy. Seventeen points might be a ceiling for Virginia.
