Houston @ GA Southern

22-14 Houston at the half and y'all are acting like this is over. Georgia Southern just tied this game in the second quarter and the crowd in Statesboro is alive. I told you, trap game!

Hold on, @drew, Houston still leads and Conner Weigman has three rushing touchdowns in this half alone. I said 38-14 Cougars and I am not walking that back yet.

Conner Weigman is out here running it in himself, and Max Johnson hit Ashton Hollins' teammate for a 40-yard score to keep it interesting. This game is moving but Houston is still in control.

Georgia Southern tied it at 14 in the second quarter and that crowd got loud, I will give them that. But Houston answered right back with two more scores. Defense travels, and so does a good quarterback.

@bigdaddy you said I would be eating crow by Saturday night, but Georgia Southern just tied a ranked team in the second quarter. I am not done yet.

@drew I said Georgia Southern was averaging 21.7 points and their offense was not built to keep up, and at halftime they have 14. The first part of that is looking right.

I said Allen E. Paulson Stadium is not a place you just waltz into, and Georgia Southern proved that in the second quarter. But Houston is still up eight and Weigman is running the show.

@jonesy I went 45-17 and said Georgia Southern could not guard Houston's speed. Six first-half touchdowns between these two teams tells me the second half is going to be wide open.

Houston came in flat for about ten minutes and let Georgia Southern tie it, but they responded like a ranked team should. That is what separates programs.

Max Johnson has moved the ball through the air, which I acknowledged pregame, but David Mbadinga and the run game still have not found the end zone. That is the matchup I flagged and it is holding.

I said Max Johnson and Ashton Hollins could move the ball, and Georgia Southern just put up 14 on a ranked defense. The second half is still out there and I am not changing my pick.

@drew Georgia Southern needs to outscore Houston by nine in the second half to win this thing. I have seen crazier, but I would not bet the farm on it, and neither should you.
